Our mission is to identify and implement industry relevant trends to maximize both the authorization of treatment days and reimbursement from payer sources.

In our industry, 80% of all treatment is paid for by private insurance. Instead of treating insurance companies as an adversary, you want to align your company with the payers. The accumulating of these industry-wide trends solely benefits our customers and aligns them with payers resulting in more authorized days, reduced peer-to-peer phone calls, and quicker reimbursement.

Locating trends establishes parameters for obtaining what is reasonably foreseeable as the maximum amount of treatment days to be authorized, without being negligently ambitious in the pursuit of excess treatment days. This is how we’ve cultivated respected relationships with different insurance carriers.

We Set Your Team Up for Success

At Meru Billing, we have recognized that the “medical necessity” criteria varies from one insurance carrier to another. We have studied each carrier’s criteria and gear all patient clinical toward the carrier’s continued stay criteria. We also provide clinical documentation training for the clinical teams that we work with.

Our Training Process

This process is based around teaching clinicians how to obtain the information needed for excellent documentation. We train clinicians on translating what they see in the examination room into an attractive medical record document that supports continued stay criteria. This type of communication with the clinical teams allows our UR team to have the best information needed for continued stay reviews. Throughout this, our team works to ensure providers have excellent documentation in place when medical records get requested by payer sources.
